Raftin’ It!
Last summer Dan, Nate and I all went rafting. Well, we kinda went on a backpacking trip that then turned into a rafting trip.
We started out our Friday pretty early, around noon. Dan took us up in his Jeep and we off-roaded some fund dirt trails, went geo-cache hunting, and then went rock-crawling in Dan’s Jeep. After that we hit the trail with our backpacks. The hike is quite easy (even for us out of shape old men). We were up there just as it was getting dark. Around the lake there were several great camp sites, all taken by little scrub scouts, of course. So, we venged to show them all up in the morning.
Next morning we got up and broke camp early enough to head down to the lake and show the scouts what we’re really made of. Even though our glory trip only lasted 20 or so minutes, it sure was fun. And heck, it got us close to 100 feet along the shore before we had to get back off. Anyway, the video highlighting our glory trip is to the right. Above that vid is one from our Jeeping adventures the day previous. And then below is a link to the area we hiked up to, for those that are interested in repeating our perilous trip.
Pittsburg Lake, American Fork-Pleasant Grove, UT 84092
